Asha Ra Kirana (Ray of Hope Psychiatric Care), the practice of Dr. Asish Asutosh Choudhury in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website or book a consultation, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this site you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Booking details you provide, your name, phone number, email address, and the consultation type and time you choose.
Communications you send us by WhatsApp, phone or email when you contact the clinic.
Payment information processed by our payment provider when you pay for a consultation. We do not see or store your full card or bank details, these are handled directly by the payment provider. To process the payment, the payment provider also receives the booking name, phone number, email address and the fee tier you booked.
Basic usage data (such as pages visited) that most websites collect to keep the site working and improve it. What this means in practice is set out under Website analytics below.

The mental-health self-check on this site runs entirely in your browser, and your result is worked out there. Your answers are not sent to us unless you ask us to keep them. At the end you are offered the choice of sending them to Dr. Choudhury so that he can read them before your appointment. If you do not take that choice, nothing about the questionnaire leaves your device.

If you do send them, we store your six answers and your result against your upcoming appointment, together with the date you agreed to share them. We do not store your name, your email address or your IP address with them, and we use the phone number you enter only to find your appointment. Only Dr. Choudhury and an administrator of the clinic can read them, and every time they are opened is recorded. They stay on our servers until you ask us to delete them, using the contact details below.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to count how many people visit this site and which pages they read, so we know what is worth writing more of. It is configured to collect as little as it can, and specifically:

We report the address of the page you are on, and nothing you type. Anything after a “?” in the address is removed before the page is reported, so a filtered or shared link is recorded as the plain page.
The self-check is never measured beyond the page being opened. Your answers and your result are worked out in your browser and are not sent to Google at any point.
The clinic’s own dashboard is not measured at all. The part of this site where appointments and patients’ names appear reports nothing to Google, and the analytics code is not loaded there.
Advertising features are switched off. Nothing from your visit is used to build an advertising profile, to show you adverts elsewhere, or to link this visit to a signed-in Google account across your devices.
Where you came from is recorded only as the website (for example “google.com”), not the full link, so a search you typed is not passed on.
Your IP address is used by Google to estimate a rough location, such as a city, and is not stored with your visit.
One cookie is set in your browser holding a randomly generated number, so that a reader who comes back is not counted as a new person. It contains nothing about who you are.

None of this identifies you, and none of it is joined to your booking, your phone number or anything you tell Dr. Choudhury. You can block it with your browser’s privacy settings or an ad blocker, and the site works exactly the same either way.

To schedule, confirm and provide your consultation.
To contact you about your appointment or in response to your enquiry.
To process payments and issue receipts.
To meet our legal, medical-record and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Medical confidentiality

Anything you discuss during a consultation is treated as strictly confidential and handled in line with medical ethics and applicable law. Clinical records are kept secure and are only accessed for your care or where the law requires it.

How your information is protected

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit access to it.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal details you have shared with the clinic, subject to any records we are legally required to retain. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
