ADHD
Trouble with focus, restlessness and impulsivity, in children and adults.
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder affects how the brain manages attention, activity and impulses. It is not a matter of laziness or lack of effort, it's a difference in how focus and self-regulation work, and it can continue from childhood into adult life. With understanding and support, people with ADHD can thrive at school, at work and at home.
Signs you might notice
- Difficulty staying focused, or being easily distracted
- Trouble organising tasks, or often losing or forgetting things
- Restlessness, fidgeting or a sense of being always 'on the go'
- Acting or speaking on impulse, or finding it hard to wait
- Starting many things but struggling to finish them
- In children: trouble sitting still, following instructions or completing schoolwork
